Flying with Lithium Batteries
Whether you’re flying anytime soon or otherwise, it’s important to keep in mind the restrictions on traveling with lithium-ion batteries. It will help save you time and the trouble of dealing with TSA checks later.
In each lithium-ion battery, there are two compartments that are separated by a thin piece of plastic. Now, if the two sides meet, that is what causes an explosion. But, this is very unlikely to happen in the air, as there’re strict restrictions for flying with lithium batteries.
According to Transportation Security Administration, spare (uninstalled) lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, including power banks and cell phone battery charging cases, must be carried in carry-on baggage only. With airline approval, passengers may also carry up to two spare larger lithium-ion batteries (101-160 Wh) or lithium metal batteries (2-8 grams).
Federal Aviation Administration says that lithium batteries, which power everyday devices, can catch fire if damaged or if battery terminals are short-circuited. Devices containing lithium metal batteries or lithium-ion batteries, including – but not limited to – smartphones, tablets, cameras and laptops, should be kept in carry-on baggage.
Spare (uninstalled) lithium ion and lithium metal batteries, including power banks and cell phone battery charging cases, must be carried in carry-on baggage only. When a carry-on bag is checked at the gate or at planeside, all spare lithium batteries and power banks must be removed from the bag and kept with the passenger in the aircraft cabin.

About Lithium Batteries
Lithium batteries are primary batteries that have metallic lithium as an anode. These types of batteries are also referred to as lithium-metal batteries. They stand apart from other batteries in their high charge density and high cost per unit. Depending on the design and chemical compounds used, lithium cells can produce voltages from 1.5 V(comparable to a zinc-carbon or alkaline battery) to about 3.7 V.
Maxworld offers top-quality & affordable lithium batteries for sale worldwide. Maxworld lithium battery is a type of Lithium Iron Phosphate Batteries(LiFePO4 Batteries) and is built with a first-rate built-in Battery Protection System(BPS). This built-in Battery Protection System maximizes the performance and efficiency of the battery, thus prolonging batteries’ lifespan.
First-class Lithium Performance: Maxworld lithium batteries can provide up to 4000 cycles. With a low self-discharge rate, our lithium batteries lose little power when charging and discharging. Plus, a lithium battery stores more energy than a normal battery due to its high energy density.
